The goal of the weatherization rebate program is to make existing homes more energy efficient. Austin Energy and Texas Gas Service also provide rebates toward a variety of weatherization projects that can also be used in conjunction with Sunset Valley’s rebate program.

ENERGY CONSERVATION

Weatherization is one of the most cost effective ways to conserve energy.
The City is offering a variety of rebates from basic weatherization to providing additional insulation.

ELIGIBILITY

Applicant:
- Must be a resident of Sunset Valley.
- Residents can apply for combinations of the above rebates with a yearly cap of $2,000 per address.
- Funds are available on a first come first serve basis.
- Please call Public Works and Environmental Services at 891-9103 to check rebate program status before conducting any work.
Weatherization
- In order to be eligible for the rebate program residents must choose a company from the participating companies list located on Austin Energy’s website.

Sunset Valley Weatherization Rebate

Eligible Item	Rebate Amount
Home Energy Audit and Weatherization	$0.50 per square foot up to $500.00
Additional Insulation	$0.50 per square foot up to $825.00
Solar Screening/Solar Shading/Film	$2.00 per square foot up to $200.00
Duct Replacement/Wrapping	$2.00 per linear foot up to $200.00
Low E Windows	$10 per square foot up to $200.00 per window, up to 10 windows
Wi-Fi Enabled Thermostat	40% the cost up to $200.00

CHECKLIST

Meet all eligibility requirements
Submit the application within 30 days of completing the irrigation upgrades and include:
- Itemized paid-in-full receipts with charges for taxes separated from material and labor costs and line item detail for each category requested.
- Total rebate cannot be more than the cost of the project including anticipated rebates from the City of Austin.
